2024 Deck the Alley Transportation and Parking Guide
We're so excited to welcome you to this year's Deck the Alley event at Elfreth's Alley! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and your ticket purchase goes directly to helping the preservation efforts of Elfreth's Alley, our nation's oldest continuously inhabited residential street.
The holiday season will be in full force on Saturday, December 7th in Old City including Deck the Alley and the Holiday Sip and Stroll.
To make your visit as smooth as possible, here is a quick guide to transportation, parking, and possible road closures for you to use to plan your visit.
Parking:
We recommend that our guests park in the garage located by the Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Market Street. The cost is a flat rate of $14 no matter how long you stay. From there, you can either walk up to Elfreth's Alley or take the Phlash bus, which will be free if you show the driver your ticket for Deck the Alley or let the driver know that is where you are going.
To take the Phlash Bus to Elfreth's Alley:
Board at Stop #13 at the southwest corner of 6th and Market (next to La Columba).
Ride the bus for two stops and get off at Stop #15 (2nd and Market) and walk north on 2nd street to Elfreth's Alley.
Two other nearby parking garages are:
Old City Parkominium (Park America): A 24-hour covered garage easily accessible off 95 and 676. 215 N 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19106
Old City Parking: 304 Race St, Philadelphia, PA 19106
Road Closures for Holiday Sip ‘N Stroll:
The Old City Holiday Shopping Sip & Stroll will also be occurring from 12pm - 5pm on Saturday. Event goers can enjoy an open street and stroll car-free space while enjoying shopping, dining, and entertainment.
3rd Street between Market and Arch Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6:00am to 7:00pm. No parking on these streets from 6:00am to 7:00pm. Cars will be towed.
Ride Sharing:
Uber & Lyft are also available to provide transportation from 30th Street or Suburban train stations.
Public Transportation:
Elfreth's Alley is close to several major bus lines and the subway stop at Market and 2nd.
We look forward to welcoming you to the event!
